A lot of rusted steel.

My first opportunity to design a project in the desert climate of Arizona, the series of buildings each have their own character, but use the same palette of materials. We had fun utilizing southwest vernacular materials that are uncommon to the PNW, including a whole lot of rusted steel.

We also brought in a nod to our home turf with a dramatic cantilevered doug fir glu-lam and car decking roof for the most prominent building, being careful to not allow a single ray of direct sun to touch the precious wood.
